Recognizing Evil Exists
The death of Tyre Nichols was so egregious that the City of Memphis quickly and without hesitation fired those involved and filed charges. The initial police report didn’t match what the videos showed. It was brutal, tragic, and infuriating all at once.
There are a lot of people making this about race. There are a lot of people making this about complying with police. For the former, it ignores the race of the officers involved. For the latter, it ignores the evidence plainly in front of us.
The New York Times has another piece up on a different victim of police brutality - a white man named Jerod Draper. He was tased, denied medical care to deal with an overdose, and died.
This isn’t a problem about race. It’s not a problem with criminals and non-compliance. This is about a group of people abusing the power and authority they have. Power does indeed corrupt, and that corruption is evil.
Google Caught Blacklisting Conservatives
The Internet search giant is at the center of the latest “Big Tech” leak, this time with internal documents showing that conservative pundits and sites were blacklisted - their results forced down in the search results, if allowed at all. The site I wrote for, RedState, is one of the blacklisted sites.
When the tech giants have a say in who does or who doesn’t have a voice, it should be a major concern for all of us.
DeSantis Responds to Trump
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, without mentioning Trump, responds to the attacks Trump has been hurling at him daily.
There may be some things to attack DeSantis on, but his handling of COVID ain’t it, chief. DeSantis was on the right side of the COVID lockdowns, and Trump was on the wrong side. The voters won’t fall for this.
