Several years ago, when I was working at another radio station in my hometown, I was sent to St. Jude as part of the training for a Radiothon we’d be putting on. The trip was both amazing and sad. Amazing because of the work they do, but sad because you get to meet the people who are working with children suffering from cancer and the families that have to go through the experience.
What St. Jude does is truly phenomenal work. I cannot begin to describe what I felt being there, seeing what they do, and talking to the people who work with these children and families.
On my show today, I’ll be encouraging my listeners to become donors. I am encouraging the same of you. Donating is simple. You can do so online at www.stjude.org, by phone at 1-800-372-4999, or by texting "LIVE" to 626262 and tapping the link from St. Jude to donate via your smartphone.
Ilhan Omar Gets the Boot
And so it’s come to pass that Ilhan Omar has been removed from the House Foreign Affairs Committee. The Congresswoman, who has a history of unapologetically making antisemitic remarks and also watering down a previous House resolution condemning antisemitism, is absolutely outraged because this is clearly an attack on her race and faith.
Interestingly, no one on the left was mad when Marjorie Taylor Greene was given the boot for the exact same reason (not that she was an immigrant and Muslim, the other reason).
Save The Planet - Work Remotely
That’s the plan the Biden administration wants to push. Their logic is that people can work remotely and use less fossil fuels, thus cleaning up the environment. But there is no indication that they’ve looked at the economic effects that such a plan could have. They also think kids can return to virtual and hybrid classrooms - as though we don’t have enough data to show that would be a disaster.
What’s Up With The Chickens?
Apparently, people online are freaking out because their chickens are no longer laying eggs. It’s spawning conspiracy theories that there’s something in chicken feed that’s causing it. But that does not appear to be the case. Instead, chickens are molting, and they don’t lay eggs as much in the winter - some stop completely. Chickens tend to not lay eggs year-round because, biologically, their bodies need to rest and they instinctively know that when the days are shorter, it’s winter, a time where chicks historically don’t survive.
But, it’s great conspiracy fodder.
