In this week’s episode of Homestyle, my co-host Leigh Guidry and I talk to the folks at Josey’s Goods, run by Gene and Lisa Josey, who make some of the based Louisiana-sourced jams and jellies you’ll find.
For some folks, you choose a job and work it your whole life. For other folks, fate plays a part. Gene’s story of how an injury forced a hobby change that became a new career is a fascinating one, and his and Lisa’s love of the craft is evident in how they talk about what they do. As a customer of theirs, I can vouch for how great their stuff is. Give the episode a listen and check out their Facebook page (linked above).

The Homestyle Podcast is a joint venture between myself and one of my best friends, education reporter Leigh Guidry. Throughout each episode, we discuss cooking, crafting, and other hobbies as well as how we make sure to spend time with our families despite how insanely busy life can be. The goal of the podcast has always been to take a moment to focus on what’s really important because, at the end of the day, family and life are more important than whatever distractions are going on in the world around us.
