A Viral PR Stunt Backfires
At midnight, a reporter from Mexico dropped a video that looked like former New Orleans quarterback Drew Brees got struck by lightning.

First thing this morning, fans who caught wind of the video were praying and hoping Brees was okay. There was silence from Brees, the company he was cutting an ad for, and most major outlets.
But national sports reporters all jumped on with quote tweets of the video and acted surprised and worried for Brees, despite numerous signs that the video was a stunt of some kind - the way it was shot, the sound of the lightning, the timing of the post, etc. - and the fact that the company behind the ad shoot, was being incredibly evasive.

They would later write stories like “No, Drew Brees Didn’t Get Struck By Lightning” as if they’d believed that fact all along. But this is why I dislike national sports reporters.
It was clearly a stunt, but they were looking to chase online clout, retweets, likes, etc. by sharing the video and acting concerned. That then gives them the opportunity to take the high ground in their reporting by discussing the misleading video, PR stunt, etc., as they gaslight their readers into thinking they were on top of it all along.
Let’s Talk About Kanye West… Sort Of
I’ve avoided this subject like the plague because I didn’t really want to get into it too much, but after yesterday’s appearance on Alex Jones - where Kanye made Jones look like the sane guy in the room - we have to have the talk.
West isn’t evil. He’s not a Nazi. He’s severely mentally ill, which is a well-documented fact, and he hasn’t been taking his medications for some time. But he is also someone who has allowed himself to become surrounded by grifting yes men who are feeding the current mentality. Nick Fuentes is a guy no one should know about, but he has a platform now because he’s hanging out with Ye. Other conservatives who were all-in on Kanye because he was a fan of Trump and worked with him are not caught between a rock and a hard place. Renounce Kanye and admit you hitched your cart to the wrong horse or double down.
Most are just staying silent.
