Biden’s Vow to Codify Roe v. Wade
Joe Biden has taken today to announce that if Democrats can hold the House and the Senate, he’s going to push for legislation to codify the national right to abortion into federal law. His announcement appears to be a last-ditch effort to rally Democratic voters before the November midterms. Recent polling has shown a massive Republican swing in recent weeks, and Democratic enthusiasm it at a low point. Despite a polling rally late in the summer that seemed driven, in part, by the Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision, abortion simply isn’t polling very high on the list of concerns voters have this year.
Is Clay Higgins In Trouble?
Louisiana’s 3rd Congressional District has virtually no public polling, so we’re reduced to seeing what the campaigns themselves put out. Holden Hoggat, the primary Republican challenger to Higgins, has put out his own data showing that there was a path to victory.
However, Higgins dropped his own polling today, and, considering it’s from Trafalgar and mirrors what we saw in 2018, I think it’s probably pretty accurate.
Is there a path to victory for any challenger? Perhaps, but with three weeks left in the campaign, it’s getting harder to see it.

Flu Season Is Here, And It’ll Be Busy
Health experts are predicting a pretty big flu season, and it’s already hitting the southeastern part of the United States pretty hard - including Louisiana.
The percent of positive cases in Louisiana is already much higher than it was in October of any other year in recent memory, including the 2019-2020 flu season, which was huge. Take care and get your flu shot.
